Next Thursday, the 5th, we start something new. It's called Israel Up Close, and twice a month we're going to bring you somebody worth hearing, live, for a 45-minute talk and then your questions.
Our first guest is Guy Haran. He's been taking people around Israel's wineries since 2006, and he wrote the guidebook Wine Journey. He's coming on at noon our time, which is seven in the evening for him. And he's asked everybody 21 or over to open a bottle from Israel while he talks, so we can all raise a glass to the people who make Israeli wine.
So here's my favor. If you could register today and send this to one friend who loves a good glass of wine, that would be amazing. If you're ordering a bottle online, this is the week to do it, because they take a few days to arrive. The first talk is free for everyone.
Thank you, Guy, for doing this. I'll see you next Thursday.

THIS WEEK AT AIC
Israel voted on Tuesday, and nobody has 61 yet. The ballots from soldiers and others voting away from home are still being counted. Uri Zehavi wrote up where it stands, and where it could go, for The Algemeiner.
Why Israel’s Election Is Deadlocked, and Where It Could Be Headed
Our December book is out. Amanda Elliot's Eight Ways to Say I Love You came out on Tuesday. It's a Hanukkah love story.

Community liaison
Is your shul, church, school or civic group stands with Israel but isn't an AIC partner yet? You make the introduction and tell us what your people would actually turn out for. It's an hour or two a month, from home.

One of our ducks went to the Louvre Abu Dhabi. The finder was there for the art, and wrote about the “stunning blue sea, white structure and the roof with multiple lace-like layers of metal.”
